2018 Blog Goals Quarterly Update #2

2018 Blog Goals Quarterly Update #2

At the beginning of the year I sat down and made some goals, both for the blog and for family life. Unlike last year, I think I was a bit more realistic in my goals this year and I set out to achieve just a few things. Now that we’re 6 months into the year, it’s time for another update.

Youtube

I only started my Youtube channel back in November of last year so it’s still quite a new thing for me and I still haven’t got into a nice routine with it. However, I have gone from 600 subscribers to just over 800 so that’s a massive leap and I’m so happy with that progress.

I really enjoy filming things like our days out, holidays etc. and I’m trying to do some more showing things we get to review like toys. If there’s anything you’d like to see on the channel, please do let me know!

Original Content

In the last update I wrote I said that I was doing really well with the content aspect of my goals this year. I have been posting a lot more about things we get up to as a family that we haven’t been asked to review and I’m also writing about general things that go on in life. I am going to keep trying to find a nice mix between personal posts, review posts and sponsored content to make sure I’m posting the kinds of things my readers want to see!

Planning

As we have had 2 holidays this year I have had to get better at planning content well in advance. I think when I wrote these goals I was writing posts the day before they were being published and it was killing me. I was staying up quite late most nights just to get everything done. Things were a bit different then though as Erin wasn’t at nursery and I had no time during the day to get any work done. Now though, I have 3 full days a week to get things written and it means I’m usually always a week ahead of myself.

Do you make goals for the year? How are you getting on with them if you do?
