The Pressure That Comes With Blogging

Generally I am the kind of person who keeps to myself. I know that might sound really strange coming from a blogger who puts her whole life on the internet but I can count my friends on 1 hand and it’s very rare that I ever post to my personal Facebook page. I write about our lives, parenting issues we may be having, things we might have done and products we have been using. Something I don’t write a lot about though is self-employment, blogging and what it means to be a full time blogger. Today I wanted to talk

Introducing… Me!

You might not know it but I have actually been blogging for 10 years this coming summer. Way back when I started I had moved back home from Canada the previous year and I was getting ready to go to university as a mature student to read English. At the time, I was reading quite a lot and writing reviews on some websites which I got paid tiny amounts for. A member of one of those sites gave me some great advice and that was to also create a blog as somewhere to cross post the reviews. I got on

2018 Blog Goals Quarterly Update #2

At the beginning of the year I sat down and made some goals, both for the blog and for family life. Unlike last year, I think I was a bit more realistic in my goals this year and I set out to achieve just a few things. Now that we’re 6 months into the year, it’s time for another update. Youtube I only started my Youtube channel back in November of last year so it’s still quite a new thing for me and I still haven’t got into a nice routine with it. However, I have gone from 600 subscribers

10 Tips On How To Create Great Content For A Wedding Themed Blog

I have been married now for coming up to 5 years (September 2018) and just recently I’ve been thinking about thing I wish I had done before that happened. Not only is the decision to get married absolutely huge but planning the wedding can be such a massive job. John and I went back and forth with quite a few ideas for our wedding and it was frustrating to see what we could and could not do. Looking back, a wedding themed blog would have been a great idea. I thought I’d write some blogging tips for anyone thinking about

2018 Blog Goals: Quarterly Update 1

Wow, the first quarter of the year has gone already. I can’t quite believe it’s very nearly April. At the beginning of the year I decided to set myself some goals so I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to do a bit of an update. Youtube I started the Youtube channel back in November ’17 so really, not that long ago. Although I haven’t made quite as many videos as I would have liked I am still pretty happy with how everything is going. With just over 600 subscribers now I feel like I’m going the right

How To Keep Your Blog Organised In The New Year

Wow, it’s now 2018 and this year will be my first full year being self-employed. Technically, I was self-employed for all of 2017 but I also worked in a supermarket until the end of the summer. Working from home full time is quite a lot of pressure as I have to earn a certain amount each month to keep up. Keeping on top of everything is a hell of a lot of work so here are some ways to keep your blog organised in the New Year. Technology It would be lovely to stay that working from home means being

2018 Blogging Goals

Last year I made a list of blog goals which I am happy to say, I smashed. 2018 is a completely different year though and things have changed quite a lot since last year. In August I decided to take the leap and go self-employed. Hitting targets and reaching my goals means a lot more to me now and while there are not consequences as such, it does matter if I don’t put the time in to try to achieve new things. Erin is starting nursery next week and will be going 2 days each week in January and then

Overcoming Camera Shyness

A camera shy blogger isn’t something you hear of too often, especially when this is what they do for a living. For the longest time I have been really camera shy. I hate having my picture taken which is probably due to self-confidence issues. The majority of the photos you see on here or on social media are either of Erin on her own or with John or other family members. It’s quite rare for there to be pictures of me. Last month I realised something though. If I want to move forward as a blogger, for my business, I
