Being nearly 3, Erin is now at an age where she remembers certain events and she loves to look at pictures of them. I think she would happily let me sit and go through all of my folders of pictures on my Mac for hours, or even look at some of the printed photos we have. Erin also loves to have something for herself too though so when Photobox got in touch to tell me about their brand new ‘My First Photo Book’ I couldn’t wait to order one for Erin.
Ordering Erin’s ‘My First Photo Book’ was really easy and the Photobox website is really easy to use. You are able to upload photos you’d like to include in the book from the device you’re working on or you can use photos in your Photobox albums if you’re already a member. Once you have uploaded initial photos you can create your photo book. Either, you can put the photos in manually or you can have Photobox put them in a random order for you.
The ‘My First Photo Book’ is a 13.7 x 13.7cm square board book that is suitable for children under 3 years (and older, of course). It comes as a 16 page book and each page is made from thick board and can also be wiped clean. If you have a toddler, like we do, then you’ll know that this book is likely to get things spilled on it, bitten, thrown and probably a million other things done to it.
You can obviously choose whatever photos you like for the book but I went with a little bit of a theme. I wanted to put some of Erin’s amazing firsts in a book so that she could look back and remember certain things. I chose my photos fro the day Erin was born, right up until last month when she got her very own playhouse.
Not only can you personalise the whole book by adding in photos but you can also do various other things. You can personalise the cover and each page by choosing a background colour from 10 options. You can also add in headings for each photo and I really liked this feature. I was able to give each picture a title and a date so no matter what, Erin can look through the book and know exactly when things happened.
Not only does Erin love looking at pictures but she loves getting her own post from the postman. When our ‘My First Photo Book’ arrived and I told her the package was for her, she was even more excited about what was inside. Erin couldn’t wait to open it up and see what was inside. Now, we look at the book on a daily basis and Erin tells me what is in the pictures and when some of them were taken.
These books are not only great to have as something to look back on at home but they would make wonderful gifts!
