AD: This post is in collaboration with AO.com.
Being self-employed and working from home means needing the right tools to be able to get the job done. I am lucky enough to have my own office in one of the spare bedrooms but I don’t want to be shut away all of the time. Sometimes, it’s nice to work on the couch on an evening or be able to take work away with me if we go on holiday. For this, I need a laptop and my old model has been slowly dying for a while now.
AO.com acted like my Fairy Godmother and only the day after John and I was talking about needing a replacement, they emailed to offer me a new laptop! I nearly cried when that email popped in my inbox. AO.com have so many laptops to choose from and I was sent the Lenovo Ideapad 530S 15.6″ Laptop in Mineral Grey.
Do you remember when setting up a new computer or laptop would take hours and hours? I used to dread it and usually had to set aside a whole everything to get everything exactly how I wanted it. The Lenovo Ideapad 530S was ready to use in only 15 minutes from turning it on for the first time. After a quick install of Google Chrome and importing my bookmarks, an a couple of other apps I like to use, I was ready to go.
When I’m working I tend to have quite a lot of tabs open; social media, emails, my blog dashboard, any post I’m working on as well as anything else I might need to use. Some laptops and computers really can’t cope with this, as I soon learned with my old model but that’s not the case with the Lenovo Ideapad 530S. Not only am I able to have all the tabs open that I need but I can also have folders or apps open in the background and nothing slows down. Obviously, I try not to overdo it though!
I spend quite a lot of time looking at and editing images I have taken to go alongside blog posts and social media promotion. The 15.6″ screen is plenty big enough and it is so crisp and clear. The picture quality is amazing and the colours are vibrant and bright. The Lenovo Ideapad 530S has a built in basic photo editor which allows for quick and simple edits which are all I need sometimes.
My old laptop was honestly a bit of a beast, although a pretty green beast, but it was so heavy and bulky. This model is sleek, thin and surprisingly light. In the past I have struggled to take my laptop away for the weekend or on holiday because it was just so heavy but that is not an issue any longer. The Lenovo Ideapad 530S can fit in a few of my larger handbags or it fits perfectly in our weekend bag, with space to spare!
I honestly couldn’t be happier with the Lenovo Ideapad 530S. Not only am I able to work from home in comfort but I I have a great laptop to help me to it to the best of my ability. I’m not sure John will be happy about it being easier to take away with us though!
This looks like a fab laptop. I have been looking for a new one for myself and quite a few have caught my eye on AO.
It sounds like it is so simple to set up which is a good thing. x
I never thought to look for laptops on AO.com I always associate them with kitchen appliances (I do love my giant fridge freezer) i’m looking for something to work on, Asa has an older Lenovo, so will have to check this out
