What We’ve Been Watching: December

What We’ve Been Watching is a monthly feature where we talk about everything we’ve been watching over the past month. It might be something on Netflix, Sky or even just a DVD we’ve had for years but wanted to watch again. If we’ve been watching something new we’ll talk about that too!

Nashville

I don’t know why but we had recorded the series on Sky+ and for some reason, we’d stopped watching it 5 episodes before the finale. If you’ve seen the most recent series than you will know what happened just before this and maybe that was why! I decided to work through the Sky planner recently though and watch as much as possible to create some space. This series though made me cry so much so I hope the last series, the next one, is a little bit happier all round!

Baby Sharks

Erin’s newest favourite is a horribly addictive playlist on Youtube. We have it on our TV and I like to sing along to nursery rhymes etc. with her and to help her learn moves to some of the songs. She’s getting pretty good at the Hokey Cokey now! Anyway, one of the playlists starts with a song about sharks who end up getting hungry and chasing some little fish. Thankfully, the whale saves the little fish and everyone is happy. Erin clearly doesn’t understand what is happening but the music is just so bloody catchy.

The Apprentice

Normally I absolutely love The Apprentice. I love getting angry at the contestants for making the same mistakes every single year on the buying tasks and I honestly love laughing at how stupid some of them can be. Unfortunately, this year I didn’t really like any of the contestants and all of them were absolute idiots most of the time. The two contestants in the final were just laughable really but I don’t actually think anyone should have won this year because they were all so bad!

Big Little Lies

I have FINALLY finished this super short series. John and I watched the first couple of episodes months and months ago when it was first aired on Sky but then for some reason, forgot about it. This was another show taking up space on the Sky planner. I didn’t just want to delete it and it only actually took me two days to finish watching.

The end of the series was mostly quite predictable towards the end but I really enjoyed it. I know this series came from a book and there was nothing else written after it but there will still be a second series. I personally think there’s still loads more they can do with the show so I’ll be looking forward to it.

Doctor Who

I was very late in becoming a Doctor Who fan. I started with the Peter Capaldi episodes and I LOVED him. This month though we have been watching from the beginning of the newer episodes. So far we have gotten through the series with Christopher Eccleston as The Doctor. I honestly didn’t think I would like him but I really did. He was very different to Peter Capaldi though so I’m looking forward to watching more now.

We also watched the Christmas special which I loved. However, I’m a bit sick of Doctor Who making me cry!

What have you been watching this month? Let me know in the comments!
