5 Ways To Keep Fit Out Of The Gym

AD | Collaborative post

Tomorrow you’ll be able to read a post all about me joining the gym this year but if you want to look after yourself a bit more this year like me but don’t fancy treadmills and weights then there are other ways to keep fit out of the gym.

Swimming

I love spending time in the swimming pool and I love taking Erin. However, swimming is something I never learned how to do as a child because of self consciousness. I hated getting in a swimming costume at school and maybe that was because I didn’t have something flattering enough or a swimming costume that fit well. Speedo is one of the most well-known brands for swimwear and they really have something to suit everyone, no matter the body type or fitness level. If I could afford to, I would love to pay for swimming lessons!

Running

John is a big fan of running and has got quite a few medals for taking part in various runs over the years. Whereas I would prefer to be on a treadmill in the gym John needs to run outside. When we went on holiday to Center Parcs last year he got up early in the mornings to take in the scenery and get in some exercise.

Exercise Classes

There are loads of exercise classes to choose from, depending on what’s on offer where you live and these can be quite high intensity or low impact! Classes can range from Body Attack to Aqua Fit to Yoga so there really is something for everyone. I love the variety of exercise classes and that you can try as many as you like until you find something that is perfect for you.

Learn A Sport

Some people really hate certain kinds of exercise so take up a sport instead. Again, this is something I never really got in to at school and I wish I had done. Sports are not only a fantastic form of exercise but also a great way to meet new people and have a wider social circle. Most areas have sports teams for beginners that don’t cost too much money and it’s always nice to get out of the house to do something different!

Youtube

If, like me, you are quite self conscious then starting off at the gym might not be the best idea. Luckily, we can now access a massive range of exercise videos online and Youtube is the perfect place to start. You can do whatever exercise you feel like and in your own time. Instead of being stuck in an exercise class for a certain length of time you can choose a video which suits Being in the comfort of your own home can really help you to get some exercise in, even if you don’t feel like going out to do it.

What do you do to keep fit or to look after yourself? I’d love to hear from you so let me know in the comments!
