Ever since Erin first saw it on TV she has been mad about Peppa Pig. We have a few small toys from magazines etc. and a couple of small figures but Erin has been desperate for something a bit bigger for a while. We were recently offered Peppa Pig‘s Big Red Car to review and I knew that Erin would love it.
Peppa Pig’s Big Red Car comes with the red family car, Peppa Pig and Mummy Pig figures, picnic hamper, picnic blanket with a bottle, 2 plates of food and a BBQ. The set requires 2x AAA batteries but these are supplied with the toy.
If you’re anything like us, and seem to have toys wherever you look, storage is a really big issue. The first thing I noticed about Peppa Pig‘s Big Red Car is that all of the additional items (except for the characters) can be stored inside the boot. The picnic table turns upside down and all of the other items fit inside. This is such a great way not only to keep your house a bit tidier but to help make sure the pieces don’t get lost.
The whole set revolves around the idea that Mummy Pig is taking Peppa Pig out for the day to have a picnic together. Now that summer is here this is a great set to take out into the garden. Mummy Pig and Peppa Pig come dressed in special picnic outfits which is a really nice touch.
Speaking of the characters, one of the things that I really love about this set is that you can use other Peppa Pig characters with it. We have Rebecca Rabbit (dressed as a nurse) from one of our other toys and it fits perfectly. If you own other characters you could really change how the car is played with each time and create a whole different story for Peppa Pig and her friends and family.
One of the other really special feature of Peppa Pig’s Big Red Car is that it makes sounds and plays the Peppa Pig theme tune. By pressing the steering wheel the horn can toot and you can listen to the song, as well as hearing other sounds. I think this aspect of the toy really adds that little something extra special as you can toot the horn as you drive the car along.
Erin is absolutely thrilled with Peppa Pig’s Big Red Car and she has played with it so much since we got it. We have a trip away coming up and I always like to take some toys with us. Seeing as the picnic items can be put inside the boot safely, I have a feeling that this is something Erin will want to take away with us!

My daughter was a big Peppa Pig fan and we had a Big Red Car, but it’s changed a bit. I remember using it as inspiration for making her birthday cake one year. Peppa Pig Fans are going to love this.
My kids love Peppa Pig and I have to admit I find myself laughing at times too so this would be a big hit in our house!
I am beginning to think Peppa Pig will be here until the end of time! Great looking toy either way!
My girls had a little peppa pig car and they loved it so much, it’s such a sweet toy
I have to confess, I loathe Peppa Pig and she is banned from our house. Having said that, this is a great little set, I love all the extras – I just wish it came with different figures, haha.
Our grandsons are a bit too old for Peppa Pig now but they loved the cartoons and books when they were younger.
My two are very into Peppa Pig at the moment and they would love this toy! Especially because it is red! My daughters favourite colour (today anyway ?)
