AD | Collaborative post Now, more than ever, do I need to manage my time well. On a normal week before lock down happened I would usually work while Erin was at nursery and then maybe a couple of hours on the evening and weekends. Now though, I am lucky if I get a couple of hours in each day and that means that I need to be a lot more careful when it comes to managing my time. As a full time blogger there are lots of things that I usually need to do on a daily basis; writing
Wow, it’s now 2018 and this year will be my first full year being self-employed. Technically, I was self-employed for all of 2017 but I also worked in a supermarket until the end of the summer. Working from home full time is quite a lot of pressure as I have to earn a certain amount each month to keep up. Keeping on top of everything is a hell of a lot of work so here are some ways to keep your blog organised in the New Year. Technology It would be lovely to stay that working from home means being
I love to find a new accessory for blogging and back in September at Blog On I fell in love with Box 51’s Peg Board, which comes from Paladone. I have a light board already and I love having options for when I create pictures for blog posts and social media and this little delight is perfect for this! This peg board costs only £11.99 and comes with the board and 2 sets of numbers, letters and some symbols. The peg board generally is super easy to set up as all you need to do is choose what you want it
As a blogger, I have my camera out a lot. In fact, I have it to hand most of the time and I never leave the house without either having my Canon PowerShot G7X Mark II or my phone. Erin has grown up around a camera and I guess she’s just grown up getting used to pictures being taken of her. That’s really no different to any normal family wanting to document their child growing up. The difference is Erin’s photos are all over the internet. Erin is just coming up to being 2 and she’s just starting to realise
Not all that long ago light boxes became a bit of a crazy. I managed to get myself one in a sale last Christmas but honestly, it’s awful and super simple. We were recently asked to review a new light box from Ginger Snap along with one of their cool letter packs! We were sent one of Ginger Snap’s A4 Grey Wood Lightboxes (£30) along with a coloured letter pack. I didn’t actually know which lightbox I was being sent and I was so happy when I opened my box. You may have noticed a bit of a grey theme
Last week I wrote about my 5 blog must haves but I thought today, I’d write about my blog wish list. Pipdig theme At the moment I’m using a free WordPress theme for the blog. It’s okay but it isn’t pretty and beautiful and everything else I want this site to be. Pipdig have some really stunning themes which make everything look a lot more professional. I have recently changed themes on WordPress and while my site does look better, it’s still not what I want. I want something I can customise more and get exactly how I want
I have been blogging for quite some time now, about 7 years, and in that time I have come to find certain things that I just cannot blog without. I thought I’d put together a little list of my top 5 blog must haves! 1. Tailwind Tailwind is a brand new thing to me and I was really unsure whether it was worth paying for or not. It is. Tailwind is amazing if you want to make the most out of Pinterest. This isn’t really something I’ve bothered too much with until now but I’ve been so silly not to.
For the past couple of days John, Erin and myself have been in Manchester so I could attend Blog On, my very first blogging conference. I’ve been blogging since 2010 but only in the past year have I been taking it seriously and trying to make a career out of it. I’m not even close to that yet but that’s exactly why I went to Blog On! I wish I’d read a post beforehand about what to expect so I’d been more prepared so here it is; How to Survive Your First Blog On! How to survive your first Blog
