We are very lucky at the moment that Erin has quite a good bedtime routine. The time Erin goes to bed changes each day but on days where she isn’t at nursery, we know exactly what order to do things in and we very rarely have any trouble with her going to bed and going to sleep. However, this weekend in the UK the clocks change, going back an hour and this can really mess with a child’s bedtime, routine and sleep pattern. I don’t actually think we have done anything up until now to prepare Erin for the change.
Since Erin was born I think we have been very lucky with sleep and bedtime. Erin has always slept quite a lot and it used to be a running joke at our local Baby Sensory class and baby yoga class because Erin could never stay awake for the whole class! This means that Erin has been with me every day for the majority of her life and I had no child free time. Erin has been going to nursery for nearly a month now so it’s given me a few weeks to get used to her not being around for a couple of days a week. From February, she will be going Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:45 to 3:30. While I do still feel a bit lost without her, having spent near enough every single day of the past two years with her, it’s amazing how quickly you get used to it and get into a new routine.
